Every service listed here is a free, confidential Australian helpline — no referral, Medicare card, or diagnosis needed to call. Search by keyword above, or use the category filters to narrow the list. A few categories worth knowing about:
Crisis
Immediate, 24/7 support for suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or acute distress — Lifeline (13 11 14) and the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467) are staffed around the clock, every day of the year.
Youth (5–25)
Kids Helpline and headspace are built specifically for children, teens and young adults, with counsellors trained in school, identity, and family issues young people face.
Domestic & Family Violence
1800RESPECT supports anyone experiencing or at risk of domestic, family or sexual violence — including a text and online chat option for when it isn't safe to call.
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander
